  • The call to save the child is a priority, because the child is the person who is going to carry on what you have started. He is going to sit where you are sitting, and when you are gone, attend to those things which are important.THE fate of humanity is in their hands. We would not let them die because the are heritage of the Lord.

  • The King hath said, come down (II kings 1:7-9)

The Scripture text before us was an encounter between prophet Elijah the man of God, the messengers of king  Ahaziah the son of Ahab whom he sent to Ekron to inquire of Baal-Zebub the god of Ekron whether he shall recover of his disease and a captain of fifty soldiers with his fifty whom the king sent to arrest Elijah. The Israelite’s by this time were yet to recover from the ruins, destruction  and devastation brought about by the evil reign of king Ahab and his enfant terrible wife Jezebel who introduced the worship of Baal in Israel of God and influenced her husband king Ahab to do all manner of evil. Israelite under Ahab and Jezebel chose Baal For God, except  Elijah brought a revival and reawakening to His people who in repentance shifted their allegiance Baal back to God saying:

The Lord, He is the God

the Lord, He is the God

    (II kings. 18:39)

But soon after the death of King Ahab, his so king Ahaziah, who reigned in his stead had an accident by falling down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria. Rather than go to God for healing for the wound and injures sustained from the accident thereby correcting the mistake  made by his late father Ahab, Ahaziah like Beltshazzar the son of Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon went further to do more evil than his father through he knew what happened ton his father for disobeying God. Ahab worshiped Baal who God used Elijah the prophet to destroy, but Ahaziah his son then went to Baal-Zebub, A higher idol to be introduced to Israel again. God who wouldn’t take chance had His servant Elijah at hand to stop the evil move by Ahaziah to save His people Israel from another circle of destruction, suffering and pain witnessed during the reign of Ahab. Ahaziah who was bent on following the evil steps and ways of his parents then decided to arrest and possibly kill Elijah to avoid what his father suffered in the hands of the prophet. What concerns us in this little pamphlet is not how the battle ended between God and King Ahaziah, the son of Ahab, but the command the king gave to Elijah through a captain of his fifty.

Thous man of God, the King hath said, Come down.

  • The chips are down. And two types of believers and Christians are now very obvious. It is no longer hidden. By Their fruits, they are known and seen. They are among us, but not with us, neither for us nor for the lord, bit for themselves. While rivers of living water, is flowing from true and genuine bellies, they are pot bellied as a result of making their their god. They mind earthly things, come for earthly things, struggle and fight for making money and gain. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of.

But it pleased the lord that both of them should grow together and co-exist, the wheat and the tares, the sheep and the goat, the active and the passive , the EAGLE AND THE VULTURE CHRISTIANS (An allegory), till the day of harvest and divine separation when every  one will go to his or her own place t spend eternity there. In these last days, when the Christians faith demands the highest consecration commitment and sacrifice, the vultures have dominated the scene, superimposing themselves in all nook and crannies of the faith, The faith therefore is in dire need and want of the eagles.

So,  For the purpose of identification, understanding , encouragement, doctrine, teaching and instruction in righteousness, this small book is written. Not to despise, embarrass nor judge anybody, but to at least know who is who when lives are exhibited and characters showcased. This will help one to be ware watchful and careful that in nothing, should you and me, be offended.

  • Be it known to you that the number of years you have spent here on earth shows the number of years  you have been sharing and enjoying God’s grace. You cannot deny this. But have you allowed grace to do his full work in your life ?. if not now , eternity shall reveal it and tell in the story. Receive the salvation which grace brought and sit down and be taught by grace on how to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. This matter of what grace brought and teaches cannot be over emphasised. It is what preacher and teacher should preach and teach. (Titus 2:11, 12,15)

  • … If  ye  continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed, and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (Jn 8:31-32). It Is an irony and a spiritual paradox

  • Temptation is common to men, but overcoming temptation is uncommon to men. only few trust God to give them the way of escae and agree with him to help them temptation. Several people in the Christian faith do not believe that they can overcome temptation. They easily succumb to temptation and embrace the doctrine of fatalism when it comes to temptation. many confess that they are like fishes in the water therefore cannot deny water when it comes to sin and temptation.

But Jesus invitation to Simon Peter proves otherwise. “Fellow me and I will make you fisher of men” (mtt. 4:19). you  can be fished out of the waters of sin and temptation. it is what this book teaches.

  • “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made, comfortable unto his death, (phil 3:1)

This is an often quoted passage of the scripture by believers in Christ But the whole context of this scripture are not fully applied, obeyed and practiced by many. This is because many believers in Christ including minister and leader wants to know him (Christ) and the power of His resurrection but not the fellowship of His sufferings being made comfortable unto death.

As has been done to many passages in the holy write, many Christians only pick a part of the scripture that suits their lust and desires, the ones they are comfortable with, and off they go with it praying, fasting, screaming and even crying to God who Promise us to hold Him by His word to fulfill it. They forget that God has no business with half  truth. But who blames anyone who loves half truth? who delights in twisting and handling the word of God deceitfully, walking in dishonesty and craftiness?.

  • The TRUTH, that sacrosanct being, nature and person of God got the first attack among men right in the Garden of Eden.  There man believed a lie sold to him by the owner and father of lies the devil himself .This he did to man using his art in trade tricks and subtility.(Gen. 3:1-7, Jn 8:44).

From then, man no only became a liar, but imbibed, inculcated and enthroned lies as a way of life. Lies became man’s culture. However, God did nit keep quite, He swiftly promised the messiah, the Saviour , the TRUTH personified, God in human flesh, the seed of the woman to come and restore man back to life.(Gen. 3:15).

TRUTH came as promised, disclosed  his person, Identity, and mission. (John 14:6;Luke 4:17-19) He came as the second Adam , the first Adam having failed by believing a lie;  But nay, man no more wants the truth, it is strange to him. The TRUTH was not received, but rather opposed, abhorred not received, but rather opposed, abhorred, rejected and finally killed.

Before His Killing, Pilate a Roman Governor tried to save him from killed by his people the “owners” of the truth, but failed in that attempt for the scripture must be fulfilled. Yes the people the truth came to save killed him with  a declaration that his blood should be upon them and their children’s children. The entire humanity was shocked by that saying. Of course, all that partook in the killing of the truth directly or indirectly paid dearly for it. The remnants, the disciples, took him and buried him. Ironically the twelve or rather the eleven were no where to be found. Only one, John the beloved followed him to his place of death the CROSS.(mattt. 27:19-25, Jn. 19:25-27).

The  TRUTH now risen,  alive, established on earth and ascended to heaven to come back again for the final establishment of His Kingdom. Man is now left with a choice between the revealed truth and the known lies. Christ the truth and Satan the liar.

However,   in spite of all these, this known,  Victorious,  Celebrated  and established truth is still IN TROUBLE.
